In some people, fiber-free diets can help heal the gut. That's not just based on anecdotes—it's grounded in science and clinical practice.

For example, fiber elimination has been shown to improve constipation-predominant IBS (PMID: 22969234) and help induce remission in treatment-resistant inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Colitis and Crohn's disease. (PMID: 37967555)

Mechanistically, it makes sense. If an imbalanced microbiome is driving inflammation, you don't necessarily want to keep feeding the microbes contributing to the problem.

That doesn't make a carnivore diet a panacea.

But extreme dietary interventions can sometimes have profound—even life-saving—effects for the right person. That's not something to ridicule. It's something to investigate... especially when other approaches have failed.
