When you hit rock bottom, do you quit or does discipline drag you back?

Jose hit an IED, tore off his gear, and waited for death. No noise. No rescue. Just pain and the thought that it might be easier to check out. But when nothing happened, something shifted. If he wasn’t going to die there, he wasn’t going to lie there. Training took over. Tourniquet on. Mind back in the fight. The Brits showed up—but only after he made the first move himself.

Here’s the lesson:
• Quitting is a choice. So is getting up.
• Discipline is built for moments when motivation disappears.
• Survival starts when you act, not when help arrives.

Hard moments don’t wait. Neither should you.
