Over 20 years ago, Adobe Systems changed the face of consumer video editing with the launch of Premiere Elements - a video editing application that retained more than half of the power of Premiere Pro with features like 99 video and 99 audio tracks and keyframe control over video and audio effects, only costing $100! This came out at a time when most consumer video editing software let you work with one to three video tracks, and as the years went by more and more consumer video editing software from other companies brought up their capabilities to matcht - or even occasionally exceed - what Adobe Premiere Elements can do. I used to use this software quite a bit before eventually upgrading to Premiere Pro, so as Zak Wolf I give a bit of a retrospective on how all this happened.
