"That's a dial indicator, not a comparator"... Well, not exactly.
This tool is really special here in the workshop because it's one of the very first tools I've made, and I still use it to this day. But a comment mentioned that a comparator was actually a dial indicator. That's like calling a tire a car. Both need each other but are different things altogether.
