This election season has some fearing that American democracy is in deep peril, as candidates and voters navigate a series of overlapping crises around public health, economic and racial inequality, political polarization, and voter suppression. To understand what’s next, CHF convenes some of the authors behind Our Common Purpose: Reinventing American Democracy for the 21st Century, a recent report from the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS). Join Chair of the AAAS Commission on the Practice of Democratic Citizenship Eric Liu and Commission members Pete Peterson and Hahrie Han for a conversation about our country’s future.
