I thought I knew what a codec is. But it turns out that, like most terminology related to Bluetooth and its features, it's complicated. Like a lot of you, I've had these terms, features, version numbers, etc. floating around my head for years, but without a strong mental model for how they relate to each other. But now I've got it, and I'm sharing this model with you so that next time you're shopping for new Bluetooth features you can make better sense of everything.
