The Owl House is back!!! I’m so excited for the first special next week (October 14th for those of you reading from the future)!!!! I love this series so much and I can’t wait to see what we have in store for the final three specials!!!!! To celebrate this release and also to get into the spooky spirit I wanted to make this cover of “Whatcha Playin’?”, which is basically The Collector’s theme.
As I’ve said before, I love this new villain!!! The Collector is such a fun character and I can't wait to see what the series does with them!!! His theme, “Whatcha Playin’?”, is also a perfect amalgamation of The Collector! It's playful yet intimidating, it’s creep yet cheerful. It perfectly represents The Collector!!! This song is honestly one of my favorite songs from the Owl house soundtrack! When covering it I decided to go with more of a techno metal cover instead of my usual hybrid orchestral style. I did this because I always wanted to hear that synth bass line played on a djenting 8-string guitar. The way the synth bass line is written makes it perfect for djent!!!
