This video explains how some individuals experience post-exertional malaise after COVID-19 infection (PEM) – a worsening of symptoms after even minor physical, thinking and emotional efforts. PEM is similar to some symptoms reported by patients with myalgic encephalitis and chronic fatigue syndrome. The video outlines possible PEM symptoms, and gives tips to pace yourself, conserve energy and minimize symptoms as you recover.
