I found a long lost book explaining what Yume Kojo was! It really had almost NOTHING to do with Doki Doki Panic, but is a very interesting story! Here’s a rundown!

1984- Fuji Tv executive Haruo Shikanai, manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori and others go to Carnival in Brazil. It inspires them to hold a large scale event in Japan similar to that.

84-85 Plans begin for a large scale event, run by Fuji Media with the idea based around technology, the future and the power of dreams. Those in charge of design are called "Imagineers"

85-86 The events are finalized and focus on high end technology. The name Yume Kojo is chosen and is written in English as "Dream Machine" Imajin is chosen as the mascot.

July 18, 1986 Imajin debuts and Yume Kojo is announced to begin one year from this date. Two music groups also called Yume Kojo start promotion on radio and TV. 250 different items like Coke cans, shirts and pins are sold for promotion.

July 10, 1987 Nintendo releases Yume Kojo Doki Doki Panic for the Famicom Disk System as part of this promotion. It sold for ¥2980 and sold 350,000 copies overall.

July 18 - August 30, 1987 Yume Kojo (Dream Machine) was open in Tokyo and Osaka. Both areas were equal with live events and technology displays. 5.7 million people attended over 44 days.

Dec 9, 1987 Fuji TV releases a book covering everything about Yume Kojo and explains everything down the smallest detail. It was sent by mail to those who preordered one while at Yume Kojo

April 16, 1988 Yume Kojo creator Haruo Shikanai passes away at age 42

Oct 10, 1988 Nintendo re-works Doki Doki Panic into Super Mario Bros 2. Millions of players outside of Japan are unaware that Japan had received a different Mario 2 and Doki Doki Panic as well.

Sep 14, 1992 Super Mario 2 is re-re-worked for Japan as Super Mario USA.

1990s-2000s The internet allows people to learn about the Doki Doki Panic / Mario 2 connection but no accurate information on Yume Kojo is found.

January 2016 An unknown YouTuber with literally zero subscribers finds a copy of the Fuji book and begins to translate. He is the first person on the internet to learn the full, real, true story.

July 18, 2016 Exactly 30 years from the first announcement of Yume Kojo, GTV Japan releases the video that explains it all for the first time in human history!

July 10, 2017 Yume Kojo Doki Doki Panic 30th anniversary. It was actually covered by Kotaku! Shock!!

December 12 2019, This video passes 50,000 views on YouTube! 100,000? Well, I wasn't so lucky...
