As a parent, I’m surprised every day:
- that toy they obsessed over? Now it’s boring.
- their favourite food? Revolting.
- their best friend? Enemy.
But in a world of strict gender roles, (pink vs blue, dinosaurs vs Barbie), shouldn't we let our children fall in and out of love with whatever (or whomever) they want?
Shouldn’t they feel safe to surprise us in ways we didn’t think possible?
