If you've been wondering what type of tire is best for you on track, this is your video!
To find how the differences between popular track options I put three very best in their segment through their paces on track to answer one of the most common enthusiast questions: how much performance do you actually gain by moving from a street tire to a track-focused compound, and then to a full-blown “super 200” tire?
The tires I test:
Street Tire: Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 – a daily-friendly tire that also handles the occasional track day.
Endurance 200: Continental ExtremeContact Force – built for consistent lap times and track durability.
Super 200: Hoosier Track Attack Pro – one of the most extreme street-legal track tires available.
Using a BMW M4 GT4 on a hot day at Thermal Raceway (with thanks to the BMW Performance Driving School), we compare real lap times, heat performance, steering response, and overall drivability.
By the end of the video you should learn how each tire behaves across multiple laps, how heat affects performance, and which might be best for your next track day. Whether you're just starting out or looking for maximum lap time, there’s something here for every driver.
Let me know in the comments what tires you run on track, and check the links below to learn more or book a day at the BMW Performance Driving School!

![The NEW Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 [MO1] vs Cup 2 R!
This is the story of the new Michelin Pilot Sport S 5, and how Michelin and Mercedes worked together to make it the ultimate tire for the new Mercedes AMG GT63!
The Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 is the successor to the hugely popular Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, and aims to be better in every way, but in particular better steering reactions which is something i always found lacking on the PS4S.
The MO version of the tire has taken the base of the PSS5 and tuned it even further to work perfectly with the new Mercedes AMG GT63.
In this video we interview the lead Michelin / AMT development test driver, and compare the new Pilot Sport S 5 [MO1] against the track focused Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R [MO1]
