Part of Region II (Cagayan Valley), Isabela occupies a landscape where two very different versions of Luzon meet: broad agricultural country to the west and the rugged Sierra Madre to the east. Between them are growing cities, farming communities, and remote settlements bordering forests that remain refuges for species now rare elsewhere in the Philippines.
