When I first heard this song about two and a half years ago, I immediately fell in love with it because of its great melody. The show began previews a few months later but was soon interrupted by the pandemic. It resumed in late 2021 and played its final performance in May this year. The Broadway cast recording has finally been released last week! So to pay tribute to this great show, we have created our own version of ‘What the Hell’ from Mrs Doubtfire. I think these three here fit the roles perfectly. Don’t you think so? If they want to do a US Tour, the Hillard kids are here! I can’t wait for the show to come to the UK later this summer.
Ellie, Allie and Zachary have written a few words:
‘Doubtfire the musical means so much to me, it reminds me that all families are different and the show is near and dear to me because I was able to learn and take master classes from Rob McClure and Jenn Gambatese. My parents gifted me a dream trip to New York, my first trip ever to see Doubtfire close on Broadway. Happy trails Doubtfire. 💙’ – Ellie

‘I loved participating in this project and performing “What the Hell” from “Mrs. Doubtfire”. I really enjoyed getting together with Ellie and performing with Allie virtually. The song is fun, the show is hilarious, and the majority of the songs always make me laugh. “Mrs. Doubtfire”, along with other musicals, gives me the encouragement I need to keep pursuing my love for theatre and sharing my passion with others.’ – Zachary
