What does success mean to a minimalist? And to you specifically? You may have goals you want to achieve, like owning a house or buying a car. But have you really thought through why you set these goals in the first place?
In this digital age, most of us are drinking from the firehose of information. It is coming in so quickly and in such volume. And the message is pretty consistent: you’re only a success if you’re rich, beautiful, or powerful.
We’re sold on a dream, but is that dream even ours? What if there was another way of defining success?
Too often, we assess our level of success based on other people’s expectations, or by comparing ourselves to others who we feel are ahead of us. However, if you’re going to climb the ladder and overcome all the obstacles along the way, you better make sure you put it against the right wall.
For me, success is having the time, freedom, and calm state of mind to do the things I really care about.
And for you?
