Which prehistoric land animals would make the best gladiators? We’ll be combing through prehistory to find evolution’s deadliest land animals and pitting them against one another, analyzing their strengths and adaptations in an arena setting. Our arena is a stereotypical sand pit amphitheatre, two hundred feet wide, filled with speculating fans thirsty for blood. The animals are sorted into weight classes, and we’ve selected three of the best candidates for each weight class. It’s up to you to decide who the champion for each class will be, so let us know in the comments who you favor. Now that the core conceit of this very scientific project is explained, let us be entertained.
