What motivated the fall in Eden? Was it a desire to be like God, and if so, how could such a desire be wrong? Had they seen the glorious pre-incarnate Logos walking in the Garden, the one who ‘became flesh and dwelt among us’, the one in whose image they were made?
Some would claim Adam and Eve were simply pre-determined to sin, a shallow and pathetic answer to those who also claim that God hates most of humanity.
How could human beings who were made in God’s image and crowned with glory and honor, be so easily deceived by Satan’s half-truths?
Were Adam and Eve like children, obsessed with obtaining knowledge? Did they desire the perfection of God in an instant, did Eve believe she could simply reach out her hand, eat of the fruit and be transformed into the likeness of he who is the physical manifestation of the invisible God.
