Our Lord Jesus Christ was more than just a mere man. People knew this instinctively, and followed Him around everywhere He went, just to see what He would say or do next. They said no one ever spoke like Him before. He healed the sick, He walked on water, He spoke to a raging tempest and told it to be still, and the tempest obeyed Him. He was a man, but He was SO MUCH more. He was the Creator God in the flesh (John 1:1-14).
Jesus showed us how to live (1 Peter 2:21-23), died on the cross to take away our sins (Isaiah 53:4-5, 1 Peter 2:24-25) and redeem His people (Isaiah 49:7) and He rose again from the dead that we might have eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:20).
