This event explored what being a student mathematician entails how to take it further into a career; bridging the gap between current education and future opportunities.
This talk was given by Shamia Sanjania. Currently a second year of a BSc Mathematics degree at the University of Leicester, she is actively engaged in a range of student support activities from being the STEM Champion, Lead of Diversity to Lead Mentor at her University. During the pandemic, her roles inspired her to build her platform Women in Maths, where she aims to inspire and support younger women into the field of mathematics by providing resources, posting blogs and sharing opportunities for students of all ages to get involved and has now also joined the IMA ECM committee as a Co-Opted member.
