The IMA Leslie Fox Prize for Numerical Analysis is a biennial prize established in 1985 by the IMA in honour of mathematician Leslie Fox (1918-1992). Leslie Fox founded the Oxford University Computing Laboratory in 1957 and was the Professor of Numerical Analysis at Oxford from 1963 to 1983. He was a distinguished researcher in numerical linear algebra and differential equations and was an active member of the IMA from its beginnings.
At this event, five finalists presented talks on their chosen topic. This talk is by Nicolas Boulle (University of Oxford).
