What is a triple feed sewing machine and why do you want one. Triple Feed is a better descriptor than walking foot since the walking foot is just one of the three feeding mechanisms included in a triple feed sewing machine.
There are a bunch of terms that describe Industrial Sewing Machine Feeding Mechanisms.
Drop Feed
Walking Foot
Needle Feed
Compound Feed
Unison Feed
Triple Feed
I explain three basic feeding mechanisms that make up most walking foot mechanisms in single or various combinations.
In this video I use the terms Triple Feed, Unison Feed, and Compound Feed interchangeably as I have come to understand them in the industrial sewing machine vernacular. While I may use these terms synonymously they are actually terms coined by different name brands. These terms are combinations of the three previously mentioned feeding mechanisms. (drop, needle, walking foot)
Walking foot is a term that can be somewhat confusing given all the different combinations of feeding mechanisms that can be used on various sewing machines. I consider the use of three simultaneous feeding mechanisms, drop feed, walking foot and needle feed to be the most desirable in most applications that call for a 'walking foot'
