Keysight Labs | What is Electric Current? The Keysight 2-Minute Guru (s2e3) @KeysightLabs | Uploaded March 2017 | Updated October 2024, 19 hours ago.
Take a look at the basics of electrical current
Click to subscribe! ► bit.ly/Scopes_Sub ◄
Dig a little deeper into the basics of electric current and how it behaves in a circuit! First, we look at the most common analogy for electric current: the flow of water. Then, we use a clamp-on current probe to look at current on a resistive circuit.
Tune in for the next episode which discusses the basics of voltage and future 2-Minute Guru episodes discussing filters, Ohm's law, and more electrical engineering basics!

The digital storage oscilloscope we used:
keysight.com/en/pcx-2759552/infiniivision-1000-x-series-oscilloscopes?cc=US&lc=eng
(The Keysight InfiniiVision 1000 X-Series Oscilloscope)
This is a great cheap oscilloscope for beginners! Need a little more scope? I recommend the InfiniiVision 2000 X-Series or 3000T X-Series oscilloscopes.
Both of them have a built in digital multimeter, function generator (WaveGen), and more!
The clamp on current probe we used (Keysight 1146B):
