What is Court Pace Index?
In 2016, Tennis TV published a new metric for showing the speed of the courts at the Master’s 1000 events they called it the ‘Court Pace Index’ or CPI for short.
In simple terms, it measures the speed of the ball right before and immediately after impact with the court's surface - and is typically presented as an average calculated throughout the tournament.
