TJBChris | What happens when a Subaru Legacy odometer reaches 999,999 miles? I want to know! @TJBChris | Uploaded April 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
I've always wondered what happens when an odometer reaches its upper limits. Different cars and odometer types have had different answers; so what happens with the Subaru Legacy, for which I have a few gauge clusters (combination meters) floating around. This one has been counting away since the summer, powered by a Raspberry Pi with a CAN Bus hat and some Python I wrote.

This video covers the project: Why, and what my history is with Subaru gauge clusters and where I've used them in previous projects. I haven't hit the magic number yet...that will be the next video. Stay tuned!

WARNING: Tampering with the odometer in a car is illegal and unethical. Don't do it. Don't ask me anything about my work on this project...I won't be sharing. See the first 10 seconds for more info. Pause it if you need to.
