Many people are familiar with the idea of calling on the Name in Scripture, but fewer stop to consider what that actually means. The Creator has a specific name and it is not "LORD" or "GOD" as we see in the King James Version and the rest of English versions in circulation.
What does it mean to call on YaHuWaH and why should one do so? This video explores these questiosn from both a textual and thematic perspective.
It begins with the discussion of the Creator's Name itself, including why many scholars argue that its pronunciation is uncertain and why this has led to the belief that the Name may be unknown or inaccessible. We shall see that the form HalleluYah contains the shortened poetic form of The Name which is Yah. Name of various prophets and people in scripture demonstrate that Yah easily expands to Yahu. Consider the name of prophet "Elijah", his name in Hebrew is rendered EliYah and EliYahu. This is the same for "Isaiah" who is YeshaYah and YeshaYahu. We see this pattern in more than 70 names in the Hebrew Scriptures.
In Joel 2:32 it is written that all who call on the Name will be saved.
In Psalms 99 Moses, Aaron, and Samuel call on the Name and are answered.
In Deuteronomy 32 the Name is proclaimed and made known.
In Isaiah 12 it is declared among the nations.
The Hebrew word qara is also examined, meaning to call, proclaim, publish, and declare. This expands the idea beyond pronunciation into action, invocation, and covenant response.
The study continues into how the Most High acts for His Name’s sake in Ezekiel 20 and 36, showing that His Name is tied to His covenant faithfulness and reputation among the nations.
In Isaiah 52:6 there is a prophetic statement that His people will know His Name in that day.
In Jeremiah 16 and 31 this theme continues, pointing toward a time of restoration and full knowledge.
The conclusion of this video is that the discussion is not only about pronunciation, but about salvation, covenant identity, and what it means to truly call on the Name.
