What does independence mean to you?

For Tony Stephens, a participant in AFB’s award-winning documentary Possibilities, independence means the freedom to move through his community, pursue opportunity, and live without unnecessary barriers.

Helen Keller's life helped shape how generations of Americans think about independence. Most people know Helen Keller as a child. Possibilities tells the story that came after, exploring her legacy through the experiences of people who are blind or have low vision today.

Join us on June 27 for the New York premiere of Possibilities at Carnegie Hall, presented by the American Foundation for the Blind: carnegiehall.org/calendar/2026/06/27/possibilities-honoring-the-legacy-of-helen-keller---film-screening-with-panel-0700pm
