Let's look at a case study. Here, Dr. Caroline Zickgraf shares her research into a neighborhood of St. Louis, Senegal, with fishermen who temporarily migrate to neighboring Mauritania to preserve their livelihoods. As fish numbers decrease in Senegal, the fishermen move their businesses across the border but many end up returning to St. Louis to rebuild their homes away from the vulnerable coastline of the city.
This series was originally produced by Migration Matters e.V. for an Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange that invites refugees and non-refugee students from all over Europe and the Southern Mediterranean to learn together in an interactive, online classroom.
