Submission for "Call for Scores" by VONK
on Social Change, a 2 minute opera.
Sibelius has no real voice, so this is an instrumental version.
VONK: http://www.vonk.ventures/
Conceptual ideas:
Tenor sax: 12 notes / 12 bars, representing the letter frequency of characters in 'social change' in the English alphabet
Vibraphone: melody based on the cumulative thirds on the tone of the sax.
Clarinet: melody of the vibraphone, mirrored (on the base note) and reversed.
Voice: has all 12 notes in the octave, where ever they fit best. Text is supposed to be sung in a recitative style.
6 historical events that led to change, each in 2 bars.
