My dad acquired a vintage Western Electric footswitch for the dispatcher's station on his model railroad. The switch arrived pretty rusty and in need of a freshen up. I used PB Blaster as a penetrant to free up all the old & rusty nuts and bolts, then I set all the pieces in a phosphoric acid bath over night. A quick coat of paint at the switch is ready for full time service on the Chicago Great Western Railway (in miniature of course).
