The final road surface and line marking inside the West Gate Tunnel is now complete! ​

Crews have laid 15,000 tonnes of asphalt that make up the final road surface for the twin tunnels that run under Yarraville.​

The focus in now on the extensive tests to ensure tunnel safety systems, lighting, traffic management systems and ventilation fans are fully operational when the twin tunnels open in December 2025. ​
