Explore the West Brush Creek Trail near Crested Butte, Colorado, in this full off-road trail review and overland camping adventure. Also known as West Brush Creek Road, this scenic 5-mile out-and-back route features river crossings, rocky obstacles, deep ruts, forested sections, mountain views, and dispersed camping opportunities in the Colorado Rockies.
After airing down, our group tackled the West Brush Creek Trail in several different rigs with varying build levels. The route offered a fun mix of terrain, including multiple water crossings, rocky sections, dips, and stretches that follow the river toward the base of the mountain. Despite the changing conditions, every vehicle in the group completed the trail without issue.
We finished the day at a remote campsite surrounded by forest and mountain scenery before retracing the route back out.
