Very recently, Pixar announced that they are making a sequel to their critically acclaimed 2017 film Coco, set for release in 2029. Although Disney and Pixar have been largely criticized for heavily relying on sequels to their previous movies lately, this feels like a step too far. How will they justify the decision to make a Coco sequel? What could be said about these characters that weren't already said in the first movie? Sadly, we won't have the answers to these questions for a VERY long time.
