Even with the poor performance of Elio at the box office, Pixar is still putting out original movies, as they've very recently announced Gatto, a movie from the director of 2021's Luca, about a black cat slated for release in June 2027. Although there are some concerns surrounding the movie, such as competition from both How To Train Your Dragon 2 and Beyond The Spider-Verse, and the possibility of the movie being derivative of Luca, there are several other things that point to this movie being a potential success.
