This video describes how you can weld elegant loops to your fly line, in a very simple fashion. It can also be used to repair a broken questionable loop. The loops are used to connect different fly lines. The welding of fly lines are done by fusing the fly lines coatings at close to their melting point, below melting but above their glass transition temperature. This is where the materials start to soften. To keep the lines in place, a transparent heat shrink tube is used. You can therefore follow the progress of the welding by your eye.
