Version exclusives as a Pokemon concept are so fascinating, and there's so many possible layers to them as a gameplay mechanic. I think they ultimately started out with good intentions, but over the years thing have gotten strange and perhaps even poised against the player. Reading about the phenomenon brought me to the occurrence in the spin off Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, it's so odd they decided to implement across a GBA and DS game. Games on entirely different systems got this treatment, but I almost feel like it has a better implementation than usual? So cool. Even cooler than Mudkip! This one's for all the Blastoise, Sneasel, and Porygon fans out there.
