Pantene /pænˈtiːn/ is an American brand of hair care products owned by Procter & Gamble. The product line was first introduced in Europe in 1945 by Hoffmann-La Roche of Switzerland, which branded the name based on panthenol as a shampoo ingredient. It was purchased by Procter & Gamble (P&G) in 1985 in order for P&G to compete in the beauty product market rather than only functional products.[1]
The brands best-known product became the 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioning formula, Pantene Pro-V (Pantene Pro-Vitamin). The product became most noted due to an advertising campaign in the late 1980s in which fashion models said, Dont hate me because Im beautiful.[2][3] Kelly Le Brock and Iman gained notoriety as the first television spokeswomen to speak the line.[4] The line was criticized by feminists and became a pop-culture catchphrase for annoying narcissistic behavior.[5][6] Pantene Pro V- Elaine Irwin - Tv commercial - 1995](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Vbpq4L5pKCU/mqdefault.jpg)

![Hechts - tv commercial - 2002
Hechts, also known as Hecht Brothers, Hecht Bros. and the Hecht Company, was a large chain of department stores that operated mainly in the mid-Atlantic and southern region of the United States. The firm originated in Baltimore, Maryland.
By 2005, Hechts had some 81 stores in 19 markets in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Its locations in New Jersey, Delaware, and the majority of those in Pennsylvania were operated under the name of Strawbridges. Hechts administrative office was in Arlington, Virginia.
Hechts was founded and was operated for over a century (1857–1959) as a family firm. It was purchased in 1959 by The May Department Stores Company which in turn, was acquired by Federated Department Stores on August 30, 2005. On February 1, 2006, Federated dissolved the former May Company divisions, and the existing Hechts stores were divided between Macys East and Macys South, with stores in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Northern Virginia going to the former and stores in North Carolina, Tennessee, and the rest of Virginia (roughly much of the former Thalhimers territory) going to the latter. The replacement Hechts store in Chevy Chase, Maryland, took the Bloomingdales name.[citation needed] On September 9, 2006 the Hechts name was phased out in favor of the nationally known Macys. ![Walmart - tv commercial - 2002- good works
Walmart Inc. (formerly branded as Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.) is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores.[8] Headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, the company was founded by Sam Walton in 1962 and incorporated on October 31, 1969. It also owns and operates Sams Club retail warehouses.[9][10] As of January 31, 2018, Walmart has 11,718 stores and clubs in 28 countries, operating under 59 different names.[1][2][11] The company operates under the name Walmart in the United States and Canada, as Walmart de México y Centroamérica in Mexico and Central America, as Asda in the United Kingdom, as the Seiyu Group in Japan, and as Best Price in India. It has wholly owned operations in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, and Canada.
Walmart is the worlds largest company by revenue – over US$500 billion according to Fortune Global 500 list in 2018 – as well as the largest private employer in the world with 2.3 million employees. It is a publicly traded family-owned business, as the company is controlled by the Walton family. Sam Waltons heirs own over 50 percent of Walmart through their holding company, Walton Enterprises, and through their individual holdings.[12] Walmart was the largest U.S. grocery retailer in 2016, and 62.3 percent of Walmarts US$478.614 billion sales came from U.S. operations.[13]
The company was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 1972. By 1988, Walmart was the most profitable retailer in the U.S.,[14] and by October 1989, it had become the largest in terms of revenue.[15] Originally geographically limited to the South and lower Midwest, by the early 1990s, the company had stores from coast to coast: Sams Club opened in New Jersey in November 1989 and the first California outlet opened in Lancaster in July 1990. A Walmart in York, Pennsylvania opened in October 1990: the first main store in the Northeast.[16]
Walmarts investments outside North America have seen mixed results: its operations in the United Kingdom, South America, and China are highly successful, whereas ventures in Germany and South Korea failed.
