I’ve talked before about different levels of being. I believe there's a level above us, above the material plane. It sounds kind of like a science fiction movie, but just think about it for a second. Like at night when we dream, that's a whole other level of reality, right? We're in a consciousness where the rules are different, right? You can move instantly from one place to another. It’s quite another place than our waking consciousness.
You’ve probably heard of the idea of “The Zone”. Mostly talked about with regard to athletes – everything running on all cylinders – basket so big I couldn’t miss – everything slowed down, I could see everyone on the field
Artists also have a Zone – those moments when everything is working. The times when we aren’t worried, we’re writing, or dancing, or painting and time simply disappears. We aren’t thing about sales or deadlines. I believe The Zone is when we move from our Ego Self to our True Self that’s on this other level. Everything is working and we’re along for the ride.
We're always trying for that zone. We're trying to get our waking consciousness, our ass, our rational being to shift its center from the ego to the self to this other level. That is a different dimension of reality. So that is another level of Pur Your Ass Where Your Heart Wans to Be.
It took me like 30 years of trying before I could finally get to the point where I could sit down at the keyboard and actually speak in my own voice or in the voice of the character that I was writing in. And what that was about was Moving Your Ass Where Your Heart Wants to Be
