What’s going on friends, Sam Prentice back once again, and today we’re out in Shanghai at TCT Asia, inside the 3D Printing Genius Hub, checking out some of the most exciting, weird, clever and flat-out impressive things happening in 3D printing right now.

This is one of those show-floor videos where you genuinely don’t know what you’re going to see next. We kick things off with 3D printed shoes from Sting 3D, made using flexible filament that can be printed on machines like the Bambu Lab H2 series and the Snapmaker U1. We talk filament hardness, cost per pair, multi-colour printing, shoe design, and what it might actually take to print your own wearable footwear at home. And yes — I’m hopefully going to print a pair myself.

This video is also sponsored by PCBWay. If you need custom PCBs, CNC parts, brackets, plates, or custom-made parts for your own projects, check them out here:

From there, things get even more ridiculous in the best way possible. We run into printed go-karts, strange engineering builds, a ring toss game with prizes, a clever automatic print ejection bed concept for Bambu-style printers, and then move into some genuinely big product conversations with companies like FlashForge, Snapmaker, and a very interesting 5D printing system that adds extra movement axes to a standard printer.

We also get a closer look at the FlashForge CJ270, the Creator 5 Pro, upcoming product timelines, full-colour print samples, and what could be coming next from some of the brands trying to push beyond the usual “faster printer, bigger printer” formula. Then there’s Snapmaker, where we talk about the U1, firmware updates, new filament colours, stock rollout, and what’s next now that the Kickstarter success has become a real shipped product in the hands of users.

There’s also a look at a 5D printing module that connects to a standard printer and adds two extra axes, potentially changing how cylindrical or non-planar parts can be produced. It’s one of those ideas that feels a bit mad when you first see it, and then the more you look at it, the more you realise there may be something genuinely exciting there.

So if you’re into 3D printers, additive manufacturing, Bambu Lab, Snapmaker, FlashForge, Creality ecosystem mods, 3D printed shoes, new filament tech, experimental hardware, startup inventions, or trade show coverage from inside the global 3D printing industry, this video should be right up your street.
