Today was one of those days on the farm when the truth hits harder than you expect. We invited our veterinarian out to do a series of health checks on our cattle, starting with a breeding soundness exam on our bull, Harry. Because of his age and the stage he’s in, the vet wasn’t able to give us a solid answer — his results were inconclusive.
From there, we moved on to pregnancy checking the cows, hoping for a good outcome… but out of seven cows, only two were confirmed pregnant. It was disappointing, and not the news we were expecting or hoping for.
