Trump is reportedly skipping the Ground Zero ceremony for the 25th anniversary of September 11 after learning that politicians are not permitted to give speeches there. Instead, he plans to attend the Pentagon ceremony, where he can speak, before traveling to Ireland for an event at his Doonbeg golf resort. The Ground Zero rule exists to keep the focus on the 2,977 people who were killed, and Trump’s decision to stay away rather than simply stand silently with their families says plenty on its own.
