Whilst restoring this transitional '90s Vostok Amphibia/Komanderskie I found a massive blob of shellac covering the entry pallet.
My pallet warmer may well be in pallet warmer heaven and I need to get this watch finished - I have no choice but to make one. When you are training to become a watchmaker you are effectively training to become a toolmaker also. Many tasks require tools which are either hard to come by, extremely expensive or are completely obsolete. And as you progress as a watchmaker you will find the need to make bespoke tools.
