A woman from London, UK who battled anorexia says society should not ignore extreme celebrity weight loss because “to stay silent is to normalise it”.
Helen Burke-Tennant, 37, developed an eating disorder in her early 20s and became seriously malnourished before eventually recovering and training as a psychotherapist.
She believes significant weight loss should be discussed with compassion rather than judgement, warning that overlooking it risks normalising potentially dangerous behaviour for others.
