Today, we honor astronaut Gus Grissom on what would have been his 99th birthday. The Cosmosphere is proud to house the Mercury space capsule in which he flew in 1961, Liberty Bell 7. This capsule spent 38 years at the bottom of the ocean before it was preserved and restored by SpaceWorks, a division of the Cosmosphere which specializes in restoration and fabrication.
