What's floating up there? Something from outer space? Or a weather balloon, a blimp, or a spy balloon?
What do we do? We shoot it down. Using a $400,000 missile, we blow it to smithereens.
But wait. If it's from outer space, aren't we just going to piss off whoever sent it? Wouldn't it be better to try and lasso it and bring it down for examination? Then we could look it over intact--instead of spending millions more finding and analyzing.. the pieces. But no. What is our response? Violence. No one even questions it. We have a violence problem. We call this "entertainment." Who sees stuff like this and says, "oh, that looks like fun?" We all do. We are so conditioned to see this as normal, we don't even know that we...have a violence problem.
