Modern life is surrounded by cameras and sensors, from dash cams and traffic cameras to phones and home security systems. People often dislike being surveilled, but that attitude can change quickly when footage could identify someone responsible for an accident or crime.

Surveillance creates a genuine tradeoff between privacy and security. The same camera that feels invasive when it captures you can become incredibly valuable when it provides evidence or helps identify someone who caused harm.

How much surveillance are people actually willing to accept when the benefits suddenly become personal?
