August 22 2026 - Dundas Square
Getting off the busy TTC subway and heading straight into Dundas Square for the African Festival — where 90s star Maya was performing! Ran into friends, hung out, joked around, and checked out all the vendors and street sellers. Then the rain hit hard. We got completely soaked, huddled under sun umbrellas and the subway overhang. Testing whether my North Face Gore-Tex jacket could actually handle Toronto rain… Hanna ran to Dollarama for ponchos (they were completely out of umbrellas and ponchos!), so we grabbed a tablecloth instead and turned it into our urban emergency blanket for cover and warmth. Caught a bit more of the concert before the rain got heavier, then walked up Yonge Street past the burnt-out Zanzibar. We all got wet at Dundas Square… and it was honestly so much fun!! Shot on a spontaneous rainy festival day in downtown Toronto.
