Learning how to scuba dive has been on my to do list for quite some time now, as a former videographer for a search team looking for underwater vehicles i found myself aiding in many treacherous dives of rivers, lakes, canals, and ponds.
I always felt uneasy when my fellow teammates would disappear under the water with sometimes only their bubbles to watch. Although i did have lifeguard and first aid training for these situations i did not have the scuba certification needed to truly understand how to ensure the safety of my team while i was filming.
As my chapter with that team ended i promised myself before i would continue to help in this field i would get fully equip with the knowledge and skills in how to truly help if a situation ever occurred. With the guidance and teachings of master scuba dive trainer @Nicgyver , my good friend @carsonmcmaster and i dove head first into learning this valuable skill of being able to breathe underwater!
In this episode we take you with us for a behind the scenes look to what went into getting our dive certification. We endured the cold cold winter waters of central oregon and persevered through the chilling winds.
Shout out to our friend @Devon-Carroll for filming this series for us, for it would not have been possible to properly document this process without his willingness to join in the cold (since he is already certified). Also shoutout to my friend @PnWSnS for staying topside and helping us film.
