In this clip from the Gibson Gear Guide, host Dinesh Lekhraj heads into final inspection inside as part of our Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab tour to check out some of the most unique guitars coming through the shop right now. After touring the aging and finishing departments, Dinesh gets a first look at some of the coolest Dealer Select and Made to Measure guitars from Gibson Custom.
Watch as he uncovers some of the wildest Murphy Lab-aged guitars currently passing through QC. From a Plum Crazy left-handed SG™ Standard with Murphy Lab Light Aging, and a beautifully aged Sea Blue ’59 ES-335™ to a heavily aged Root Beer Sparkle ’58 Les Paul™ Standard and an Argentine Grey ’68 Les Paul Custom, each guitar showcases the incredible aging work and finish artistry happening inside the Murphy Lab.
You’ll also see an Ebony SG Custom Batwing with P-90 pickups featuring heavy Murphy Lab aging, complete with buckle wear, neck wear, aged hardware, and subtle details, like worn switch washers and authentically aged components throughout.
Many of the guitars featured here are Dealer Select or Made to Measure instruments, meaning they’re special builds created for Gibson dealers around the world. If you see something you love, keep an eye on Gibson.com or check with your local Gibson dealer—you never know when one of these incredible guitars might appear.
