We finally made it to the legendary Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, Texas — home of the famous 72 oz steak challenge! 🥩🤠
We weren't brave enough to attempt the 72 oz challenge (yet 😅), but we did our best to put away some seriously massive steaks, a mountain of sides, chili, cornbread, and eventually some absolutely incredible gelato.
After lunch, we explored the Big Texan, checked out the RV Ranch, talked about overnighting there, and took a look at some of the wild roadside attractions around Amarillo. We also stopped at Slug Bug Ranch, where you can see graffiti-covered Volkswagens, limos, and some seriously weird Texas roadside art.
And because we're traveling in an RV, we couldn't resist touring the Big Texan RV Ranch and checking out all the different trailers and RVs. That turned into one of our favorite discussions: which fiberglass trailer is actually worth buying? We've owned and traveled in a lot of different RVs, and we've definitely developed some strong opinions about Scamp, Casita, Escape, Bigfoot, Oliver, Airstream and more.
