Earlier this year, the International Kriegsspiel Society organized its second annual "Kriegsspiel Cup" as a competitive knockout wargame tournament. Our club formed a team and jumped into the competition! The IKS organized each round as a historical engagement, played using the classic tenants of 1820s Kriegsspiel: Umpired, double blind play with map-based movement and written dispatches.
In today's video we recap every round of the tournament, including an in-depth review of the highly competitive and razor close final matchup. How far did the Little Wars TV boys go and who will hoist the 2025 cup?
The 2025 competition featured 5 teams and the IKS organizers hope to expand the field in 2026 to at least 8 teams. They are accepting team applications RIGHT NOW for the 2026 Cup, so corral a group of gaming friends and throw your hats into the ring! Games are organized remotely via Discord, making it incredibly accessible and easy to play. Watch the video, see what you think, and if this looks like a fun challenge, apply!

2026 CUP APPLICATIONS
Teams will be selected by the IKS. Applications can be emailed to IKS at iks@kriegsspiel.org with teams of 4-6 players. Players need access to Discord and Tabletop Simulator. Applications must be submitted by November 3, 2025. Games are expected to be run starting in February 2026 through summer.
