Team Rubicon is taking action ahead of Hurricane Helene’s landfall. Vice President of Operations Jeff Byard shares how we’re mobilizing our veteran-led teams to meet the challenges of this major hurricane.
“Hurricane Helene is a powerful, major hurricane bringing life-threatening hazards: flood, surge, wind, and heavy rain,” says Jeff. “This is a regional storm impacting multiple southern states. We’re positioning our teams around the storm ready to move in when it’s clear.”
Our route clearance team is currently staged in Mobile, Alabama, with additional capabilities being mobilized from our Emergency Operations Center in Dallas, Texas, heading to Georgia for staging. Starting Friday, we’ll have teams conducting rapid needs assessments to determine how we can alleviate suffering.
We’ll quickly deploy more Greyshirts, establishing our presence to areas that request for assistance. All our core capabilities will be needed—from debris removal, roof tarping, to mucking out homes. We’ll be there for disaster survivors, doing what we do best.
